My First Blogged Session

Pre Session Writeup I am going to play another session soon. It is 5:49 am, and I have been awake for a couple hours. I got a good sleep last night. Maybe only 5 hours though. Hmm. Anyway, I have drank coffee and taken a moda so I am up now. Goals. Earn a lot of money. Ideally, I'd like to be able to sit down and grind all day. Long sessions, lots of tables. This amount of volume, at a solid winrate = $$$$$. That's the end goal that I will work toward. Last session I did 30 minutes, 7 tables, 250 hands.  This session I will aim for 40-120 minutes, 4-8 tables, 300 hands. Roughly. If I am doing well, playing well, winning, then I will extend. We'll see what happens. Aside from playing more hands, I want to win at a higher winrate. That means game selecting, making better decisions. Adapting better to my opponents. Growing. So one thing I want to do is figure out weaknesses in my game - mental game is an obvious one, as well as playing too high stakes -  and fix them. Every...

How I Won A Big Pot With Top Pair you pot? interesting. I call. So there I was, grinding for dimes and quarters ($0.10/$0.25) on the internet. I had opened for my standard 3.5x raise from the CO with Ah9hKd6s and faced a preflop three bet and followed by a full pot continuation. Vs a tight player, I would be worried about aces. But my opponent was not a tight player. So I decided to call, and probably to call down. I mean if you think about it, when you factor in my hand, and the board, a lot of hands that are going to be three bet pre aren't doing very well on this flop. A hand like AQT8 double suited, or QJT9. Or QQ88. Even if he has a king, I've got AK. Of course I lose to aces, but against a wild player, he's not going to show up with aces very often.  The turn was the 7 of diamonds, and now my opponent checked. I bet pot. Almost all of my chips. The river came the ace of spades and he made a final bet. I only had 8 bb left with 180 bb in the pot so it was a pretty easy...
